There is more information and definitely more to say about the Special Edition, but we wanted to keep this entry somewhat digestible and manageable.

The Special Edition is something that we are very proud of and excited for.  Personally, it represents the end of a life-changing, 3-year odyssey with this film, and is likely our final word on Indie Game: The Movie.

We worked really hard on it to make it worth the wait and worth the support that you all have given the film over this time.

    We hope you like it.

    Sincerely,

    Lisanne & James

    p.s. Oh!  And tell a Friend!   :)

We had the pleasure of collaborating with some great people on this project.

The S.E. would not be what it is without the wonderful help, talent and generousity of:  All the developers who shared their stories, Jim Guthrie, Adam Saltsman, Edmund McMillen, Chris Pointon, Sara Gross, Michael Eades & the super awesome VHX team, Matt and the folks at Steam, Raymond Friesen, Elbert Bakker and Troy Giesbrecht at Handcraft Creative, Ryan, Matt and the great guys at Area5, Kert Gartner, Jason Scott & Kym Dopheide.

We'll talk more about what these awesome people have done a little later, but we could do an announcement without acknowledging their fantastic work.

I'm also curious if what i'd be receiving is the Special Edition Box Set from my pre-order way back in April or May of 2011.

    July 17, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterShawn

Same as above. So the preorder back in 2012, it's the bluray box set, right?

    Hey Guys,

Thanks for writing in and for the early support - totally appreciate it.

Yes, the Box set mentioned above is the same version you'll be receiving soon.

We still have your orders and will be sending out a 'Confirm Address' email sometime very soon. So keep an eye on your inbox.

We should have the confirm address email out either later today or sometime tomorrow.

    Thanks again!

Excited about this. However, I think you mean 'collaborating' not 'collobrating.'

hehe, thanks for the point out Alex...fixed!

...we've been up for quite awhile :)

I would love a bluray copy but $69 is a bit steep for a poor student.

Still, they should sell out whether I get one or not at only 3k copies.

I look forward to the Special Special Edition..

Are there gonna be more(new) Jim Guthrie's music in Special Edition Shorts?

    July 17, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterAWesum

is there any way we'll be able to get the extra 200 minutes of material in the box set without dealing with physical media? If i get the box set is there drm, or can i rip it to my hard drive and leave the box on the shelf?

    July 17, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterAndrew

Same question as Andrew: any chance of a digital limited edition? I want the whole thing and I'd much rather have it in HD, but I don't have a bluray drive in my computer or a bluray player.

    July 17, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterSteingrimur J

Ugggh, the digital edition doesn't have 300+ minutes of new material, Team Meat Commentary (Epilogues & Deleted Scenes)? Whyyyy

    what a bummer

    July 17, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterD

Are the DVDs and BluRays region free?

    July 17, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterPhil Willis

Typo in the last paragraph: I assume you mean "couldn't".

    July 18, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterZoid

hi. I want to know if the special edition includes SPANISH subtitles.
    Thanks

Already got it as soon as I got the email about the S.E.. This movie is very inspiring, although it is nothing new to me since I've been in similar situations when making a game (independently or for contract), and also, I've been making games since the early 90's and have bunch of them in NewGrounds too then in 2008 tried to push an indie game scene back home but the industry wasn't ready so I relocated to the Bay Area in 2010. YET, even if I've been making games and been in places showcased in the movie and interacted with people related in it at the time this was been filmed (I didin't have any idea it was being filmed) it is inspiring because you know you are not the only one passionate about making games, not for the money, maybe not for the glory but because you love doing them and you want to connect with people. And the world can see his and understand what takes to make a game by yourself and not in a corporate environment where all ideas get diluted or opaqued by monetization techniques or any other reasons based on money and not passion or creativity. I say this because I worked doing advertgames for marketing, made many independent games, worked for Zynga, then worked along with John Romero on the Lootdrop start up, then tried making my own company doing a game for T-Mobile (which was published with good ratings) and now Konami (great place), so I pretty much seen a big part of the spectrum of the game industry and I can say this movie is legit and always inspiring... and now we can see in this edition all the other developers and their stories too. All of them are special in their own way. Thanks for making a classic.

Really excited about this. By any chance, when should I be receiving my confirmation e-mail? I still have not received one yet and would like to know if my order is on its way.

    July 18, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterAlbert A.

    hi,
I pre-ordered the special edition bluray a year ago it would be possible now to get a limited edition sent? I would in fact have liked but then you could not order it?

    July 20, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterLyranel

    @ Lyranel

Actually, they are one in the same. You will be receiving the Limited Edition Box Set.

Sorry about the confusion, but thanks for reaching out. And double thanks for the early support!
