Jim's New Solo Album is Out!

Today, Jim Guthrie released his first solo album in ten years! We've had the good fortune doing some early listening to 'Takes Time'. It is an absolutely beautiful album, and we can't recommend enough. Go give it a listen - your ears will love it.

While both lyrically and melodically Guthrie mines beauty from simplicity, this is an album full of bizarre, charming details — small gifts that only reveal themselves upon multiple listens. - Exclaim

This is fantastic! Sally over at Paper People made their own set of Indie Game: The Movie papercraft dolls. Getting the paper treatment is Edmund, Tommy, Jon and Phil (complete with mutton chops). Hey Everyone,

We wanted to let you know about a pretty cool project going on over at Kickstarter. Jessica Edwards is putting together: ‘TELL ME SOMETHING’ - A photography and creative advice book from fifty of the world's best documentary filmmakers. It looks like a great project. You can check out the video here:

OH, AND WE’RE IN THIS!!! We are beyond honoured to let you know that we’re going to be one (two, in reality) of the 50 filmmakers taking part in the book! The collection of filmmakers assembled for this book (Maysles! Marsh! James!) is amazing (Hustwit! Spurlock!) and - we're not going to lie - a tad intimidating (Guggenheim! Ewing/Grady!). Though we’re pretty sure we can bring something to the table. But if you have any advice on giving advice, feel free to shoot it our way :)

Involvement aside, we're all over buying this book. Go check out the project here and consider helping make it happen!

Hey there,

A little bit of a PSA for you: You know that IGTM composer Jim Guthrie does more than amazing film & game soundtracks right? ... right?

... he’s actually kinda a bona fide rock star (that we were super fortunate to get on the project :)

If you’re not familiar with Jim’s other work, you have a new reason to seek it out. Jim has a new solo album -entitled 'Takes Time' - coming out this spring. We had the good fortune of taking a full listen - it’s fantastic! You'll love it.

He just recently previewed a track to CBC music. Or watch the video below...

IGTM is nominated for 'Best Doc'!

Tonight Indie Game: The Movie is nominated for 'Best Feature Documentary' at the Canadian Screen Awards. We are insanely excited, honoured and humbled that the film is being recognized this way. If you're in Canada and want to watch the awards live, you can tune into CBC at 8pm (the Ceremony is hosted by Martin Short no less - should be a pretty fun watch).

We're in with some wonderfully tough competition - it really is one of those 'honoured to nominated' type of things. But whatever the envelope reads tonight, Lisanne and I would like to thank all of you, on Kickstarter, The Internet and beyond, that made IGTM possible in the first place. It's been an amazing, life-changing experience, one that continues. We'll see what happens tonight...
