AVAILABLE AS DLC ON STEAM

We wanted to do a quick post talking about what’s new in the Steam version of Indie Game: The Movie.  Today all Steam users of Indie Game: The Movie will be receiving an automatic update that doesn’t include the DLC (must get that separately), but does include a lot of fun stuff.

As far as we can tell, along with being the first feature film on Steam, this update should make IGTM the first film application with:

-Achievements

-Downloadable Content (DLC)

-Trading Cards

Today, you have the option to get the IGTM Special Edition DLC.  The SE DLC is 100+ minutes of new epilogues & short films.  It is another whole film's worth of stories, crafted by us for you.  Find out about what happened after the film end, and discover new stories, new games and other game creators. The DLC includes:

-100+ minutes of new short films in 1080p
-Epilogues: What happened after?
-Stories about more game creators
-Deleted Scenes
-New Team Meat Commentary

Also, today, the original app of IGTM on Steam will be receiving an update with ...

ACHIEVEMENTS

Indie Game: The Movie will have Steam achievements!  As far as we can tell, this is the first time a film-application has achievements.  So, for you completionists and achievement hunters, you’ll now get a little something extra from the app.

TRADING CARDS

Starting today, Indie Game: The Movie will also have trading cards, badges, emoticons and all that good stuff.   So if you were ever hoping for an Edmund or Tommy or Jon or Phil (and more!) trading card - you are now in luck!   A big thank you must go out to the super talented Sara Gross who created original digital paintings for the cards. You can find out more about trading cards here.

DIRECTORS' COMMENTARY

The original IGTM application now includes a directors commentary with us -  Lisanne Pajot & James Swirsky.  We yap on about the movie at length - if commentary is your thing, it’s now there for you.  Hope you like it. You can access it through the speech bubble on the in-game player menu.

NEW LANGUAGES

The language set for IGTM on Steam has been updated.  The film is now available subtitled in an AMAZING 24 different languages - all provided through the kindness and hard work of various people around the globe.

The feature film is available in: Arabic, Chinese (traditional), Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Turkish and Ukraine.

The Steam application, and all of this, was made possible by the by the genius & code wizardry of Adam Saltsman (the developer behind Gravity Hook, Canabalt, Hundreds).  Adam has been absolutely amazing through this process, making the app do everything it needed to and more!

So, that’s what’s new in the IGTM Steam Application today.  You can pick up the DLC here for $5.  Don’t own the movie yet?  Buy the film + the Special Edition DLC, and get a discount.
